Party Hard.

Truth be told, this post is easier to write than most. Whereas most weekends we feel compelled to list out option after option for things to do over the course of Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we can rest fairly assured that, this time around, a good chunk of our readers already know what they'll be doing. They'll be up in Denton at the fifth annual 35 Denton festival, taking in any number of the 35 bands we recommended they check out over the course of the four-day affair.

But maybe don't fit in that camp. Maybe you're unique and different. Maybe you're special.

Seriously, though, even those of you not trekking up to Denton this weekend are in for a serious treat. There is a lot of big talent rolling into the region this weekend.

Friday
35 Denton
It started yesterday, and it will be continuing on through Sunday night. There are going to be a lot of people in Denton this weekend, so prepare your Instagram eye-rolling accordingly.

The Story So Far at Trees
Appearing with Man Overboard, Citizens and The American Scene, The Story So Far plans to help you catch up with what has progressed in the story so far.

Booty Fade's Live Debut at It'll Do
Booty Fade, the new collaborative project from producer Picnictyme and DJ Sober, has been stirring up a lot of hype recently, and the first live show from the two goes down at It'll Do tonight as they open up for Luminox.

Jesse Cook at Granada Theater
Jesse Cook is going to be cooking up some sweet songs tonight. (Sorry.) Make sure to check him and his guitar out if you're down for some singer-songwriter jams.

The Wheeler Brothers at Prophet Bar
These Austin indie folk favorites are in town to celebrate the release of their latest album.

STS9 at House of Blues
Sound Tribe Sector Nine is easily the best jamtronica band out there whose name sounds like a place where the government might keep aliens for experiments and stuff.

Saturday
Devin The Dude at Granada Theater
Houston rapper Devin The Dude comes to the Granada Theater this weekend, providing the venue the perfect opportunity to make sure their smoke detectors work.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony 20th Anniversary Tour at House of Blues
Oh, come on. Stop pretending like you know all the words to “Tha Crossroads.” You don't. You just like to sing along and pretend that you, too, miss your Uncle Charles.

Charlie Daniels Band at Arlington Music Hall
Forget what Daniels tells you: The Devil's a better fiddle player than Johnny.

Ivan & Alyosha at The Prophet Bar
Indie-pop group Ivan & Alyosha — along with Fox and the Bird and Emily Wolfe — will be making plaid shirt-wearing dudes bob their heads tonight at The Prophet Bar.

Vaden Todd Lewis Solo Show at Kessler Theater
You probably best know Vaden Todd Lewis from The Toadies. Or maybe you know him from Burden Brothers? Either way, you can see him perform live and alone at the Kessler for this one.

Fabulous Badasses Reunion Show at Denton Record-Chronicle
As one of many free unofficial 35 Denton shows going on this weekend, this affair will take place in the parking lot of the Denton Record-Chronicle and, in addition to featuring a reunion of the Fabulous Badasses, will also see sets from Bad Design, Paper Robot and Maricopa County.

Ryan Bingham at Billy Bob's Texas
This highly regarded alt-country singer-songwriter from Austin comes T Bone Burnett approved. The two worked closely together on the soundtrack for Crazy Heart.

Wax Addicts at Circuit12 Contemporary
Hipsters and vinyl DJ nights go together like a horse and carriage.

Sour Grapes Open Studio at 901 Seale Street, Suite B
Meet the dudes from the awesome Sour Grapes art collective. Get immediately jealous of their cool space.

Sunday
Aesop Rock at Granada Theater
Rhyme slayer Aesop Rock doesn't give a fuck if you'd rather go to 35 Denton than see his show. He'll still kill.

Joan Rivers at Winspear Opera House
Red carpet personality and legendary funny lady Joan Rivers will preform at the Winspear, most likely while acting all crotchety, as she tends to do.

Royal Teeth at House of Blues
Turns out, Royal Teeth is not a display of British royal family's dentures.

Andrew W.K. at Trees
When it's time to party, we will always party hard.
