Tonight Is a Time Bomb.
Yesterday’s gloomy weather had most of us clamoring at our comforters, only to later abandon our ill-fated protests and eventually head out to work. But, hey, today we can at least see the sun. Plus, there's a lofty list of events going on tonight that sure to put some pep back in your step. So head out, maybe grab some half-priced tacos at El Padrino, and get amped up.
For the night, it beckons.
Old 97’s at the Granada Theater
The alt-country heroes and proud Dallas sons make their triumphant return to the local stage at the Granada tonight as part of their lengthy Too Far to Care anniversary tour. Hard to believe that album came out back in 1997. Also hard to believe: The 97's offered up this same show back in August at the House of Blues.

Take a shot of whiskey and grab that special gal or cowboy for some boot scootin' fun at this free show, which pairs nicely with the show happening before it next door in the big room.
The Maccabees at Trees
A group of indie rockers from across the pond will be hitting up Trees tonight. Fun fact: These dudes say they picked their name by randomly selecting a word or phrase from the Bible. They ended up picking the name of a Hebrew tribe known as The Maccabees. “Maccabees,” you should know, translates to “hammer” in English. While this might suggest a thundering show, these dudes are actually pretty mellow.
He’s My Brother She’s My Sister at Club Dada
As their name suggests, this act is indeed a brother-and-sister duo. Tonight at Dada, Robert and Rachel Kolar will lead a vaudevillian troupe of misfits alongside baroque folk-rockers Paper Bird and local dream-pop foursome Blessin'.

Stereo on Strike Night featuring Convextion at Zubar
With an austere focus on techno and house music, this weekly offering of intensely underground music from the mind of long-time area knob twiddler Wanz Dover will feature a guest set from Dover's fellow local, Convextion. Though largely unknown in the Dallas music scene, the elusive Gerard Hanson has been making waves overseas for several decades and will headline tonight's deal.
