Do As You Wish at The Texas Theatre.
We don't mean to infringe on your Valentine's Day plans or anything, but there's plenty to do around town tonight besides having a nice candlelit dinner or crying while eating a pint of Blue Bell ice cream. Don't be a cliche. Be awesome instead.
The XX at the Granada Theater
This one's been sold out for a while, so if you haven't already picked up tickets, you're kind of screwed on this. For the second day in a row, most likely!
Totally '80s Prom with The Rich Girls and Le Cure at Double Wide
If prom wasn't all you'd hope it'd be (and there's a 85 percent chance it wasn't), have a do-over tonight at the Double Wide. Embrace the '80s theme of the night, too; the bands for the evening will be revered area tribute acts The Rich Girls (Hall & Oates) and Le Cure (The Cure).
DJ Sober at Beauty Bar
DJ Sober has been doing his Bing Bang! thing on Thursday's at Beauty Bar for a minute now, but tonight's a little special; he'll be debuting the third iteration of his Satin Sheets mixes which are basically sexy tunes for the sexy lovers. Expect minimal dancing and maximum grinding.
The Princess Bride at the Texas Theatre
Could The Texas Theatre have decided to play a more romantic movie today? Perhaps, but they instead went and took a refreshing route on a tired theme. The Princess Bride is a great choice, really. It's innovative, one of a kind, funny and kind of cute. Not unlike yourself. Wink, wink.
Shaquille O'Neal's All Star Comedy Jam at Verizon Theatre
It sucks that Shaquille O'Neal won't be hosting this tonight. But, hey, Bill Bellamy, the star of 1997's How To Be A Player, should be an adequate host for the four comics performing tonight, none of whom you've likely ever heard before. But they must be funny, right? They have Shaq's stamp of approval.
