Get All Sexy With The XX.
Feeling that Fat Tuesday hangover? Can't shake the smell of boudain that's still lingering in the air? Collectively — perhaps even begrudgingly — we look at Wednesday and beg for an extra hour of sleep. And, once again, we find ourselves shaking our fists at Dionysus, cursing the heavens and wishing it was the weekend.
Well, wake the fuck up, Dallas! Wednesday is here and it's not holding anything back. So get up, grab a bag of Lay’s Chicken and Waffles flavored chips (they're not that bad!), down a massive cup of joe, and get to it.
The XX at the Granada
Even though The XX will play two nights in a row at the Granada, both shows are sold out. Sadface. I guess I'll just sit here in a corner, pouting and drinking heavily.
Official XX After-Party at Sundown at the Granada
Oh, wait! There's an after-party? Score! Sundown will host this deal — the “official XX after party,” according to them — and that's quite convenient considering this place is just a stones throw away from the actual show. DJ Kelly Reverb will be spinning up a storm tonight.
The XX After-Party at Beauty Bar
Wait, there are two after-parties? If you were unfortunate enough not to score a ticket to either of the two sold out shows, might we suggest heading over Beauty Bar's way? If nothing else, we can promise that DJ Sober and DJ Redeye will have you dancing.
Dirty Heads and Shiny Toy Guns at the House of Blues
These electro-pop groups, who are hitting the road together for the next few months, will make a stop at the House of Blues tonight as part of their Tour Odyssey. While Shiny Toy Guns are out promoting their latest studio album, III, Dirty Heads are in the midst of an Instagram contest where fans are asked to post golf-inspired photos with the #golfwithhd hashtag for a chance to win prizes and spend a day of a simulated golfing at Huntington Beach, which kinda seems like a weird promotion, but whatever.
The Green Hour Residency with Robert Gomez and Ruby Jane at Dan’s Silverleaf
Robert Gomez continues his residency at Dan's this evening, starting at 5 p.m. Stick around and listen to Ruby Jane, though. At the ripe old age of 17, this inspiring singer-songwriter has already traveled the world playing guitar and the fiddle with the likes of Willie Nelson and Sheryl Crow.
