Take In Some Comedy with Mike Birbiglia, Neil Hamburger, Tim Heidecker or D.L. Hughley.
Your first full week of work since the holidays ended is almost over. You're probably itching to get the weekend started.
Lucky for you, this weekend is packed and has some variety to it.
There's a couple comedy shows worth checking out, some can't-miss blues acts, some burlesque, some local release parties that may peak your interest and even an event dedicated to not wearing pants.
It's not like you put on pants on Sundays, anyway.
Friday
Neil Hamburger and Tim Heidecker at the Texas Theatre

Charlie Rose and the Kennedy Legacy at Winspear Opera House

Ryan Cabrera at Hat Tricks
At this show, platinum-selling pop artists Ryan Cabrera and Teddy Geiger hook up with Tyler Hilton, who has had his own share of success, including once peaking at No. 8 on the Billboard singles charts. Sounds like a hat trick, for sure.
Radney Foster at The Kessler
Radney Foster was born in Del Rio, Texas, in 1959. His most famous song is called “Del Rio, TX 1959.” Write what you know, they say. Foster, for one, listened.

The Cush, Dove Hunter and The Demigs at Dan's Silverleaf
Who doesn't love musical husband-and-wife duos? People who won't be going to this show featuring The Cush, I presume.
Reckless Kelly at House of Blues
Ned Kelly is known as one of Australia's most notorious killers. To some, he's considered a folk hero. He's also the namesake of the band Reckless Kelly, who bring their country sound to the House of Blues tonight for what should be quite the, ahem, killer show.
Austere Magazine's Black and White Party at SoapHope at Park Lane
This upstart magazine hopes to start the new year off right with a black and white party celebrating the community. There will be live music, live art, live print-making and, yes, an open bar.

You don't need any convincing. Go see The King of Blues.
Mike Birbiglia at the Winspear Opera House
Comedian and National Public Radio favorite Mike Birbiglia is back in town this weekend to perform “My Boyfriend's Girlfriend.” Only, he won't try to make out with you with a face full of barbecue sauce like he did last time.
Darude at Lizard Lounge
“Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dundun dun dundundun dun dun dun dun dun dun dundun dundun BOOM dundun dundun dundun.” Those are some of the actual lyrics to Darude's biggest hit, the omnipresent “Sandstorm,” according to a seemingly reputable lyrics website I just found.

Atomic Frolic Naughty New Year Burlesque at The Kessler
Burlesque and the Kessler. A mix of the naughty and the nice. This holiday-themed show should be a crowd-pleaser, for sure. A free show featuring Dallas' best honky tonkers.
Andy Timmons Band Plays The Beatles' Sgt. Peppers at Granada
Covering one of the greatest rock albums of all time can be a tough task, but the Danger Danger guitarist just doesn't give a crap.

No Pants Subway Ride 2013
Pants, am I right? They suck. At this event, you can be like all those cool New Yorkers who started the No Pants Subway Ride in 2002 and ride the DART Rail with no pants. Please keep your underwear on.
The Complete Works of Shakespeare at AT&T Performing Arts Center
In collaboration with Shakespeare Dallas, the complete works of Shakespeare are being presented over a five-year span in Hamon Hall. This weekend's presentation is The Winter's Tale. To go or not to go, that is the question. I'll see myself out.
