Project Octopi Tonight at Trees.
What would you indulge in if you were rich? Like, if you were as rich as Prince? Rich people seem to follow specific patterns as to their eccentric spending habits. Here are some examples of what rich folks buy:
• Classic cars. (The Jay Leno.)
• Designer shoes. (The Imelda Marcos.)
• Lots and lots of drugs (The Robert Downey Jr.)
We here at Central Track don't condone the last bullet point on the above list, but the other two are fine.
Do you know the most fun idea, though? Spending that money on parties for your friends. Fancy parties. Honestly, if you were rich in Dallas, you'd be hard pressed not to find some event to wear a top hat and monocle to, just for kicks.
Maybe you should do that tonight.
DFW Burger Meetup at Regal Beagal
Usually we'd recommend dressing up in a burger costume or something for an event like this, but hungry patrons with poor vision at the Regal Beagal may mistake you for one of their burgers. So just go as you are.
Spune Xmas Party at The Loft
Local booking agency Spune will be celebrating Christmas tonight at The Loft. With a lineup consisting of The Cush, The Eastern Sea, Bethan and Eric Harvey, you can be sure that this will be an excellent way to start celebrating the holidays.
The Octopus Project at Trees
A couple months back, Austin natives The Octopus Project had to cancel their show at Trees. Fans wrote them letters describing their sadness in great detail, and all the members of The Octopus Project were moved deeply and decided to come back to Dallas. (That last sentence was a dramatization.) Doors at 7 p.m.
Low Times and New Science Projects at Macaroni Island
Low Times, New Science Projects, Eets Feats and Atomic Tanlines probably plan on blowing up Denton tonight at Macaroni Island. And, no, not with an actual bomb threat, just pure noise.
16th Annual Elm Street Tattoo Charity Christmas Party at Prophet Bar
This sucker's $25 and an unwrapped Christmas toy to get into and you have to dress up to get in. But it's all worth it because there'an open bar, catered food, live music and casino games going on inside. And it's all for charity. For the kids, y'all.
Anine Bing Trunk Show at Elements
More than just a show-off of Danish designer Anine Bing's edgy designs, this event also promises to be something of a party, featuring a DJ set from local fashion blogger Jane Aldridge and free champagne.
