For Kisa, Choose Fancy Feast (Or Rat Tartar.)

Each week, we team up with our friends at The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Texas (SPCA of Texas) to showcase a different animal that's in need of a loving home. We'll check out the animal, learn about its personality, do a short “interview,” take some cute pictures and report back to you on our findings.

This week, we sat down with Kisa, a two-year-old domestic, short-haired tabby. She's currently up for adoption at the SPCA of Texas (2400 Lone Star Drive; 214-742-7722).

You're Kisa? Pronounced like “key-suh,” right?
Correct. I rather like the name. It suits me.

Really? How so?
It's just not a common name, y'know? Not one that a commoner would have, at least. I like knowing that I am of a higher class than those who are just dull and unaccomplished.

Well! You certainly do think highly of yourself!
And why should't I? Did you know that my family was among some of the first family of cats to arrive here in America on the Mayflower? We have a very strong heritage here in the U.S.

Does that really mean anything, though?
Why, of course! We were here first! Also, I happen to be 1/16 lion.

I guess that's worth something. Anyway, could you give us a few words to describe yourself for our readers?
Whatever adjectives you would use to describe Elizabeth Taylor would fit me as well, darling.
