Danse Crazy Macabre With The Faint.
There are many names for the days surrounding this time of November.
Thanksgiving Day.
Black Friday.
Even Cyber Monday.
But what about today, this Tuesday after all of those other days? If we were Tuesday, we'd be jealous. We'd probably do something very petty to the other days of the week, like put Nair in their shampoo bottles or make them watch the movie Tremors while tied to chairs.
But fortunately for, well, everyone, this Tuesday is a better person than us and, instead of mild acts of revenge, it has opted for just being full of great things to do so it can shine like those other days of the week.
The Faint at House of Blues
It's a good night for electro-goth lovers at the House of Blues tonight! The Faint will be playing the entirety of their album Danse Macabre for fans. The cherry on top are the openers, Trust and Icky Blossoms, who are both new, strong darkwave acts. Get ready to dance in the dark at this one. Doors at 7 p.m.
Wondercrust Movie Club Presents The Peanut Butter Solution at the Grotto
As usual, the Wondercrust movie club will have a free showing of a bad/weird film this last Tuesday of the month at the Grotto. The movie tonight? The Peanut Butter Solution, which features the following: ghosts, extreme hair growth, magic paint brushes and more! Event starts at 9 p.m.
Sanjay Gupta at McFarlin Auditorium
As part of SMU's Tate Lecture series, Sanjay Gupta (best known for being CNN's award-winning medical correspondent and host of the channel's show, Sanjay Gupta, M.D.) will be appearing on campus, and anyone may attend with a ticket purchase.
Open Mic Night at Dallas Comedy House
It's Tuesday, which potentially means a Tuesday night tradition for you (watching a certain TV show, making dinner with friends, complaining about a cancelled show that used to run on Tuesdays, etc.) No tradition? Start one! Every Tuesday night, the Dallas Comedy House has free open mic nights. You and your friends' new Tuesday night tradition could be making folks laugh!
FOUND Magazine's 10th Anniversary Tour at the Texas Theatre
FOUND magazine, a publication that prides itself in the odd things that people find here and there, will have its founders (sorry) Davy and Peter Rothbart stopping by The Texas Theatre tonight to share excerpts from Davy's new book, songs from Peter's new album and, of course, the latest issue of FOUND.
