Local Barkeeps Gather For a Good Cause Tonight at the Windmill.
Still looking for something else to do tonight? Consider this: Revered area barkeeps Jason Kosmas (the mind behind Craft Cocktails Texas), The Libertine's Mate Hartai and the Cedars Social's Omar Yeefoon and Julian Pagan will all gather at the always awesome Windmill Lounge (5320 Maple Avenue) tonight for a good cause.
To raise money for the New Yorkers affected by Hurricane Sandy, these talented drink slingers — who've already hosted similar benefits this week as part of a tour that took them through Austin, San Antonio and Houston — will be joining forces and serving Manhattan-inspired cocktails in exchange for $5 donations to the cause.
The crew also has a handful of rare beers from their own personal cellars to auction off to those who attend.
All proceeds, Hartai adds, will offer “much-needed direct support to the Lower East Side in new York City.” Specifically, tonight's raised funds go toward helping out the family-owned NYC Serbian restaurant Kafaka, which was flooded by three feet of water after the hurricane hit.
So head on out to the Windmill tonight from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. to do your part and down some drinks. As if you ever need much of an excuse to visit that place. Or to drink.
