Rock Out With Japandroids.
Daylight savings went down over the weekend. And it was the good one, too. Here's hoping, though, that you used your extra hour for sleep. If so, you'll be plenty rested up for tonight's rock shows, sexy poetry readings and basketball games.
Japandroids and Bleached at Trees
Japandroids are neither Japanese nor androids. But duo's brand of noise pop still has a way of getting their fans all worked up nonetheless. And both the headliners and opening act Bleached will sound bigger and better at Trees than they have during previous trips to town at other venues.
Primus 3D at McFarlin Auditorium
According to a recent interview with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Primus bass wizard Les Claypool is asking that fans attending their new, 3D-enhanced stage show to “try not to vomit on their neighbors.” Aided by a buddy who bought some used gear from George Lucas' Industrial Lights and Magic company, Claypool and Co. are putting the acid back in acid rock.
Sexin' in D City at South Side on Lamar
Roses are awful, violets are the pits, lift up your shirt — and, well, we forget the rest. Long story short: We've been promised that the poetry readings going on at South Side on Lamar's Blue Room will get rather steamy. Take a date, especially if you're seeing Andrew Dice Clay.
Mavericks vs. Trailblazers at American Airlines Center
No Dirk Nowitzki? No problem. The “new-look” Mavs, 2-1 to start the 2012 season, are fresh off a 27-point victory against the Bobcats in their home opener. Join in with the rowdy, loud, and proud masses tonight while the n00bs try maintaining their unblemished home record.
