2012 How The Edge Stole Christmas Bill Features Silversun Pickups, Passion Pit, Grouplove and More.
The “indie”-fication of Dallas' KDGE 102.1-FM The Edge continued this morning as the once strictly modern rock-affiliated Clear Channel station announced the bill for its 2012 How The Edge Stole Christmas bash.
Far removed even from such recent offerings as the station's 2009 affair (when the station put forth a two-day lineup featuring, among others, 30 Seconds to Mars, Papa Roach and Flyleaf), the 2012 version will feature performances from Silversun Pickups, Fun., Metric, Grouplove, Passion Pit, The Joy Formidable and IAMDYNAMITE. The whole thing goes down on Friday, December 14, at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie, and tickets go on sale this Friday, October 19.
Two things worth noting about this bill: 1.) This is The Joy Formidable's second straight How The Edge Stole Christmas appearance, and 2.) Passion Pit drummer Nate Donmoyer now calls Dallas home and, when not touring, can be found around town DJing under his Shuttle moniker.
Also: No matter how you feel about this bill, good on KDGE program director Josh Venable for not only talking the talk when it comes to the station's changing format, but for walking the walk in that regard as well.
