Not Going to Austin City Limits This Weekend? No Worries. It'll Come To You.
Nothing quite screams autumn in Texas like the start of the Austin City Limits Music Festival, which once again kicks off down in our state capital's Zilker Park this weekend. As one of the festival season's final offerings, whole affair's always felt like a rite of seasonal passage, really. And a fun one, no doubt.
But, on the other hand, it's an expense — and a pretty significant one between travel, lodging and ticket costs.
The fortunate news is that, year after year, a solid number of bands en route to or out of Austin for the three-day affair (which next year will become a two-weekend offering a la Coachella) tend to make their way through Dallas, too.
This year's no different as, by our count, 20 different ACL-booked acts also plan on stopping here in North Texas as part of their routing.
Technically, this spillover effect is already at play, having sparked off as Big K.R.I.T., who is Austin-bound, took to the House of Blues stage on Sunday night.
For the most part, though, tonight's when the spillover phenomenon really takes hold. Below, check out our list of acts slated to play both North Texas and ACL in the coming days.
