The Cutest Pups From The Denton Humane Society's Barktoberfest.

Dogs dressed in costumes: It can be cute or it can be awkward. But for the sake of fundraising, let's focus on it being cute.

On Saturday afternoon, the Denton Humane Society hosted their annual Barktoberfest fundraiser — an event that included a costume contest, a weenie-eating contest and many other activities for canines, all in an effort to raise some money to help the local non-profit organization. And, despite the abrupt cold front, plenty of dog owners came out to partake in the activities, the low-cost vaccinations, the nail-clippings and the doggie food buffets.

An especially nice moment during the fundraiser was the rescue parade, in which people who've rescued dogs from shelters or have taken in strays were given the opportunity tell their dog's story.

All in all, it was light fun for everyone involved. And especially nice? An anonymous donor matched the $5,000 raised for the organization!
