We Are 1976 Opens Up The Doors To Their New Bishop Arts Store.

In case you missed our previous announcement, We Are 1976 has opened a second location in Oak Cliff. The new shop sits right in the heart of Bishop Arts at 313 N. Bishop Ave. Located directly across from the new Emporium Pies spot, the new We Are 1976 is a bigger space with a focus on more than just retail. The Bishop Arts store now gives owners Vynsie, Derek and Jully Law more freedom to expand their direction and begin to grow their brand.

The new space in Oak Cliff is multidisciplinary. Having more room allows for things like printing presses, wash booths for screenprinting and, um, a giant bright yellow conference table flanked with executive chairs.

If you haven't been to the shop for a class yet, you definitely need to stop in and do so. They always put on affordable, cool, approachable craft and art classes. The new space allows for more of those great classes and an expansion in offerings.

Having presses in-house and the space to work with them also allows 1976 to expand their design offerings and build out that end of their business, which they haven't had the time or space to do much of in the past.

Sure, the Henderson location is still We Are 1976's retail primary, but the Oak Cliff shop is too stocked with a number of the Law's awesome gift, home and art goodies. Yes, we even spotted a few of our favorite Hi-Chew candies on the front counter.

The new store isn't fully done, though, so pardon a little bit of dust and the blank wall you may spot here or there. They'll be kicking off classes in a month or two once they are all set up. Expect an official grand opening coming up next month, too.
