NPR U Ready?

Ira Glass and Wait Wait… Don't Tell Me! Highlight 2012-2013 ATTPAC Calendar.

The AT&T Performing Arts Center just released its 2012-2013 events calendar, and to say their offerings are National Public Radio-heavy might be something of an understatement, as three NPR staples are now slated to come to the Arts District in the coming months.

NPR current events quiz show Wait Wait… Don't Tell Me! will tape an episode of its show live at the Winspear Opera House on February 7, This American Life host Ira Glass will also visit the Winspear for a talk on June 1, and comedian and frequent NPR contributor and guest Mike Birbiglia will also be chatting up the Winspear, with his appearance coming on January 12.

Tickets to Birbiglia's show are currently on sale here. Tickets to the Ira Glass go on sale this Friday, also through the ATTPAC's online ticketing site. No word yet on Wait Wait tickets.

We can only hope this also means that the ATTPAC folks are working on bringing Radiolab Live to town, too, yeah? Fingers crossed.

Other highlights on the already-booked front from ATTPAC include The Wailers at Strauss Square (November 15), Lily Tomlin at the Winspear (February 10), Harry Belafonte at the Winspear (March 3), Joan Rivers at the Winspear (March 10) and Sinbad at the Winspear (April 27).
