Tom Hanks To Produce JFK Assassination Film.
Yesterday, Variety broke the news: Tom Hanks will be producing a new film about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy under his Playtone banner.
There's no word yet on who'll be in it or when the film will start shooting, let alone whether or not it'll even be filmed in Dallas, but we do know this much: The film will be called Parkland, and it's named after the Dallas hospital where JFK, Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby were all pronounced dead.
According to Variety, the film “chronicles the events leading up to JFK's assassination and Abraham Zapruder's famous documentation of the event” and it will, in fact, be entirely set here in Dallas.
Given the title, one would assume that the film would actually focus on the events that went down immediately after the assassination, but, hey, we've never been that good with titles, as the headline to this very post no doubt confirms.
