It's the weekend, so we thought you'd need our new and improved ultra-weekend post. There's a lot going on, so we figured it'd be best of we put it all in one, easily accessible place.
On Friday, be sure to check out the Summer Nights, the art collaboration at Bryan Street Tavern or maybe the relationship play I Met You and I Screamed.
Saturday has some great events, too, including the second annual Gorilla vs. Bear Fest and Zebra Katz at Rio Room's Basement.
Meanwhile, Sunday might be your “relaxing day,” but you could always change it up a bit by seeing Nicki Minaj at Verizon Theater or Evanescence at The Eagle's BRD.

I Met You And I Screamed at Bath House Culture Center
I don't know how much screaming is in Justin Locklear's play I Met You and I Screamed, but I do know that it's a play about the complexities of relationships. If that doesn't make you want to scream, then you're probably a happy person and I hate you.
Summer Nights at Bryan Street Tavern
Over 10 artists will be working at Bryan Street Tavern to create a live freestyle art collaboration, which audiences can watch while enjoying drink specials and outdoor music. It's a charity event, so show up in your most charitable spirit (read: let the money flow).
Michael Malone at Hyena's Comedy Club
What is funnier: Michael Malone or Michael Malone's hair? I'm not entirely certain, but I'm willing to bet that his hair is similar to Sampson's, which is to say that, if you were to cut it, he would lose his power (of funny).
Holt & Stockslager, Brent Best, Ryan Thomas Becker and Nicolas Altobelli at The Kessler
I've made no secret about how much I love cover songs (more than I love string cheese but slightly less than I love Jeff Goldblum), so I'm pretty stoked for an evening that is entirely made of covers. And this one features four great artists covering four different great artists? Sign me up. Holt & Stockslager will be covering Simon & Garfunkel, Brent Best will cover Paul Westerberg, Ryan Thomas Becker will cover Sparklehorse and Nicolas Altobelli will cover Ryan Adams.

GVB II at Granada
While last year's Gorrilla vs. Bear Fest was fantastic, it looks like it's going to be even better this year. With Glass Candy, Chromatics, Taken By Trees, Twin Sister, and A.Dd+ with DJ Sober, the lineup is flawless.
Cedars Food Park Grand Opening at Dallas Heritage Village
The list of food trucks and vedors that will be at the Cedars Food Park Grand Opening is delightfully long, including Good Karma Kitchen, Rock N Roll Taco, Ssahm BBQ and many more. Oddly enough, while you're pigging out on the wide selection of food, you can jam out to tunes by a band The Sicklies. How appeasing!
Zebra Katz at Rio Room Basement
Some of the best hip-hop of late has come out of New York (what else is new?), and Zebra Katz is definitely not an exception. His ballroom-cum-rap single, “IMA READ” has become a massive underground hit, and consequently he's played shows with big names such as Scissor Sisters and Big Freedia.
Pop-Up Barbershop at Katy Trail Ice House
Expert stylists from Hair By Charlie will be offering men's haircuts for $25 and men's straight razor shaves for $30, with all proceeds going to the North Texas Food Bank. But this isn't just an event for men. It's also for “man's best friend” (read: dogs), who can also receive a $15 shampoo and blowout. Sounds like a good day for man/canine bonding.
SUNDAY
Nicki Minaj at Verizon Theater
You know what you're getting with a Nicki Minaj concert. Wacky and outrageous costumes, plus giant spectacles. While her music is the subject of a lot of merit-based debate, it's safe to say that the show will be entertaining.
The Eagle's BFD at Gexa Energy Pavillion
What's the BFD, you ask? Oh, just a small, quiet concert put on by small, quiet indie groups like Chevelle and Evanescence. It promises to be melodrama-free.
