Timothy Oulton's First U.S. Shop Brings Some Old World Class to Knox-Henderson.

About a month ago, Timothy Oulton Furniture Designs opened its first standalone U.S. location at the corner of 75 and Henderson. And the store, though new, relishes in the old. Oulton, who lives by the phrase “be relevant or be dead,” has been in the furniture game for some time now — his whole life, basically. He started designing pieces while growing up in his father's London antique shop in the '70s.

These days, every piece of furniture that bears his name is hand-crafted and made with reused, reclaimed materials (wood, metal, plastic and vintage items). But from its 4500 N. Central Expressway storefront, the shop offers more than just furniture. There's a floral department, a vintage clothing rack and even a wifi-ready cafe where shoppers are encouraged to hang out and sip on some organic coffees and desserts.

Timothy Oulton may be new to town, but it's hoping to make a mark quickly — and not just a furniture store. It's a lifestyle brand, says store press agent Travis McHenry. And, with any luck, the store will add some British class to the Dallas scene in no time.
