It's Friday the 13th, which, as you know, means that unlucky things will happen to you today. My suggestion is that you get it over with early on. Maybe in the morning, you can drop your cereal bowl onto your favorite cat (accidentally) or cut yourself while shaving your pinky toe. Just be sure to banish the “unlucky” before it's time to go out tonight because you've got things to do!
And, in keeping with tradition, yes, some of them are pretty weird and unusual. First in “weird” is Hellzapoppin, the traveling circus review and freakshow. If that's not spandex-y enough for you, how about showing up at the Super Villain Dance Party or maybe getting a tattoo for $13 dollars at Elm Street Tattoo?

Taste of Dallas at Fair Park
If you asked me what Dallas tasted like, I'd say “Barbecue!” and then kick you in the shins for asking dumb questions. But apparently it's so much more than that! At this event, you can sample food from dozens of Dallas restaurants without have to actually visit them, and enjoy live music from several different stages.
Super Villain Dance Party
It's pretty much what it sounds like. You dress up as a villain — or if you are a villain, you dress up as yourself — and then you can dance and flirt with all of the other super villains (1st date = armed robbery) in either the Evil Lair inside or the Patio of Doom outside. There's even a prize for Evilest Super Villain, which I assume will go to whoever makes up the best “Why I'm Evil” monologue.

Roky Erickson may be best known as the co-founder of the underappreciated psychedelic rock band 13th Floor Elevators, but his life is much more interesting than that. Did you know that ,in the '80s, he stopped making music and started stealing mail? After quitting his mail-thieving ways, it wasn't until 1995 that Erickson released another album. Lately, he's been known to work with other bands, including Okkervil River and The Black Angels.
$13 Dollar Tattoos at Elm Street Tattoo
Since it's Friday the 13th, Elm Street Tattoo is going all out with a 24-hour tattoo marathon. Pay just $20 for a tattoo ($13 tattoo, plus a $7 tip), which is a pretty nice discount. Get the tattoo on your forehead for that edgy “idiot” look.
Hellzapoppin Sideshow at Hartline's Texas Beach Club
Hailed as “The Greatest Show in Hell” (the second greatest show in hell is Lucifer's rhythmic jazz routine), Hellzapoppin is a reinvigorated vaudeville act and freakshow. It's a circus sideshow act that promises a Swedish Sword Swallower, a Torture King, and something called “Mr. Buggles the Wonder Dog.” If you show up in costume, your admission is two dollars off.
DJ Chicco Secci at Glass Lounge
Chicco Secci is an Italian-born DJ that grew a reputation while playing all the best clubs in Europe. After moving to Miami, that “awesome DJ” reputation traveled with him, and he's played with the likes of Tiesto, Paul Van Dyke and Deadmau5.
