Casey Affleck To Write and Direct Biopic on Rangers Star Josh Hamilton.
Deadline New York broke the news late last night: Actor, director, writer and noted Ben Affleck younger brother Casey Affleck is writing and directing a biopic film about star Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton.
The film, which will be based in truth and is currently being shopped around to studios, will be produced by Thunder Road Picture, the team behind The Town and tear-jerking sports flick/non-shirtless Matthew McConaughey We Are Marshall
Hours ago, the Dallas Morning News received confirmation from Hamilton saying that he, too, is on board with the project.
Hamilton's history as a supremely talented baseball prospect turned drug addict turned American League MVP is well-documented. Same goes for his stories of finding God and his relapses from sobriety.
Gotta expect some scenes to be filmed at Rangers Ballpark, yeah? Probably Sherlock's in Addison, too. I mean, since they'll already be in town.
