Finally, The Polyphonic Spree Are Working On A Holiday Album.

Back in December, the Polyphonic Spree threw their ninth (almost) annual Holiday Extravaganza — a fun time for all ages, wherein the band and a slew of their friends gather to perform hits from their own catalog and holiday-themed ones from other, less cult-compared acts. But despite boasting a killer cover of The Nightmare Before Christmas' “Town Meeting Song” to (practically) call their own, the band, for all its grandeur, has never gone the holiday album route.

That changes now. All weekend long, the band has been posting to Facebook photos of their efforts in a recording studio, where, they say, they're taking some stabs at their first holiday record.

No word yet on if the disc will solely comprise of covers or if it will feature some originals. But the band did post the following video of its members goofing off and making cats noises. So, uh, I guess things are going well?
