35 Denton Adds The Black Lips To Their Hot Wet Mess Bill.
About a month back, we passed along word that 35 Denton would be expanding somewhat this year with the introduction of a fall, back-to-school festival known as The Hot Wet Mess. With that initial announcement, we also learned that two of the acts slated to perform at the festival would be New Orleans bounce artist Big Freedia and music comedian Reggie Watts.
Today, we learn of a third band coming to play Denton on Saturday, September 1, at the North Texas Fairgrounds: Moments ago, festival organizers announced that Atlanta retro-punks the Black Lips have also joined the bill. They also tell us that fans can expect three more performers to be announced in the coming weeks.
Per usual, today's announcement comes with another video post from the 35 Denton team, this one featuring Denton act Peopleodian covering the Black Lips' “Bad Kids” as a couple goes to town on a pinata.
Check that clip out at the end of this post.
First, though, you might want to head over to the event's ticket-purchasing website, where passes to the sure-to-be-wet daytime affair are currently going for $15.
