It Was A Busy Weekend In Dallas For The Ting Tings.
If nothing else, you have to respect the Ting Tings' work ethic. On the final two days of their American tour, The Ting Tings played three shows in Dallas — first at Good Records' Record Store Day bash on Saturday, then later that night at the Granada Theater and, finally, at Edgefest 22 on Sunday.
Dallas could probably have put up with even more, too, especially upon considering that, despite this rash of shows from the English dance-punk duo, Saturday night's show at the Granada — the only one in which they received top billing — still managed to sell out of tickets.
Yes, the gleeful, energetic and predominantly female at-capacity crowd that gathered on Saturday night was happy to warmly welcome the twosome. They sang along with most every lyric, clapped along without ever being asked and danced like the Ting Tings aren't just another disposable outfit with a few catchy songs. And they loudly voiced their approval at every stopping point in the set. So, no, there wasn't much shutting up at the Granada on Saturday night. Letting go, on the other hand? Plenty.
