Get The Jump On Your 4/15 – 4/21 Plans.

Coming off one of the busiest weekends in recent memory — one heavily fueled by arts-related events — things continue rolling this week, albeit at a slightly less frenetic pace.

The Dallas International Film Festival, of course, continues throughout the week with over 100 films screening at The Angelika and Magnolia Theatre. For a full schedule of films and show times check here.

But beyond just the films, there are really high quality live music and performance options almost every night of this week.

Sunday (4.15)
Cursive at Trees
The nostalgia for '90s emo bands continues this week at Trees.

Family Day at Lone Star Park
Because watching jockeys ride camels and ostriches is worth the drive alone.

Mad Men at The Angelika
It wasn't until our first time spent watching the new episode of Mad Men at The Angelika that we realized we weren't the only ones who sing our own lyrics to the show's instrumental, RJD2-penned opening theme.

Monday (4.16)
Victory beer dinner at Meddlesome Moth
Four courses of food paired with six beers from Victory Brewing Company? Sounds like a winner to us.

Chairlift at Dada
If you're going to see just one electro-pop duo this week, this one is a solid bet.

Tuesday (4.17)
Sleigh Bells at Granada Theater
The electro-pop duo is known for pushing limits volume-wise and for live shows that sound a little too remarkably like their albums.

Wednesday (4.18)
Jester King Brewery beer and cheese class at Scardello
If you haven't yet figured out that handcrafted cheeses and handcrafted beers make excellent partners, there's now a class for that.

Thursday (4.19)
Mastodon at Palladium
Mastodon will melt faces with their wall of sludge metal tonight.

Amy Sedaris at The Kessler
The delightfully peculiar author/actress/funnywoman makes a rare public appearance tonight at The Kessler.

Friday (4.20)
Ben Kweller at Granada Theater
Go fly a kite, y'all!

Saturday (4.21)
The Dallas Flea at South Side on Lamar
The quarterly flea market rolls back around.

25th anniversary screening of Robocop at Texas Theatre
Really, this is the Film Fest event we're most excited about — because who wouldn't be pumped about watching the biggest film ever shot in Dallas right alongside the cast and crew responsible for turning '80s Dallas into “futuristic Detroit?”
