Tonight Tonight Hot Chelle Rae Performs At House Of Blues.
As we've been mentioning all week, SMU's fashion week events and Dallas Comedy House's Dallas Comedy Festival both continue on tonight with panel discussions and stand-up performances, respectively. As it's the last Wednesday of the month, it also means The Libertine's monthly beer pairing dinner takes place — only this month with a surprise scotch twist. But tonight's biggest offering comes from a highly contentious pop band.
Hot Chelle Rae at House of Blues
Hot Chelle Rae's “Tonight Tonight” was one of the most divisive summer anthems of 2011. Depending on who you asked, it was either supremely catchy or hyper-annoying. While the single did go platinum, some folks still found their ultra-trendy references to Zach Galifianakis-shaped tattoos unbearable. Still, the nepotism-heavy Nashville emo-pop outfit are wildly popular at the moment.
Beer and Scotch Dinner at Libertine Bar
In a slight change of pace to Libertine's monthly beer dinner, the five-course meal will be paired with 3 scotches and 2 beers. Ron Burgundy would approve. ($60 per person, reservations required.)
Fashion Week at SMU
SMU's fashion week soldiers on with another panel discussion this evening in the Crow building. Panelists on tonight's “Business in Fashion” panel include: Amanda Sterett, jewelry designer; Joanna Lews, director of Stanley Korshak online; and John Piermarini of Piermarini Boutique.
Dallas Comedy Festival at Dallas Comedy House
Night two of the Dallas Comedy Festival continues with a lineup of 10 (mostly) local comedians, including noted regional comedian Dave Little.
Half-price food at Meridian Room
Jalapeno hummus, crab cakes, steak sandwiches and, well, every other item on the Meridian menu is half-price tonight.
