35 Denton Adds Ty Segall To Free Wednesday Night Jesus and Mary Chain Bill.

Looks like 35 Denton found someone to open for the free, rescheduled The Jesus and Mary Chain show on Wednesday night at the North Texas State Fairgrounds. Minutes ago, the festival released a statement announcing that San Francisco psych-popper Ty Segall will take that opening slot.

It's an interesting pick, if only because, once again, 35 Denton seems to have lucked out with some convenience here.

As with Grandlake, who were in Denton this past weekend and not planning on performing at the festival when they got their call asking them to play on Sunday's bill, Segall, too, spent the weekend in Denton. Segal was in town with his former bandmate Mikal Cronin's band at the festival, and he even quietly performed as a member of that band during their Thursday night performance at The Labb.

Also of note: Although the Wednesday night show is free for all to attend, the festival will be selling tickets for the priority seating area already reserved for wristband-holders at $35 a pop. The added perk of buying one of those wristbands? Free four-day access to next year's festival. Full press release announcement follows.

Today, 35 Denton is pleased to announce San Francisco's prolific psychpop thunder-king Ty Segall will join Jesus and Mary Chain as a special guest at Wednesday night's concert in Denton at the North Texas State Fairgrounds.

Wednesday night's free show begins at 7 p.m. Festival attendees with wristbands will have preferred access to a secured area at the front of the stage and will receive priority entry to the venue.
