Screw Your Cell Phone. Rock a Watch.

Since everyone has a cell phone these days, the simple watch has become nearly obsolete. And that's truly a shame: The wristwatch is a stylish accessory and, thanks to modern technology and taste, its fashion value has only increased in recent years. So, after spotting a few especially stylish watches early last week, I set out to capture a whole slew of the best watches worn by locals out on the town.

It turned out to be a far more difficult task than I'd originally thought. Not very many people still sport the ol' time piece. Props, then, to those in town that still rock a little wrist bling. On my hunt, I found big faces, small faces, square faces, round faces, colorful faces, antique faces, old-school faces and new-school faces — plus a few watches that didn't even work, but were being worn purely for aesthetic purposes. That's some next-level styling, for sure!

Another interesting observation? Fewer and fewer women seem to be wearing watches these days — at least when compared to the many men I found wearing them.

That's just sad — for both genders. To see that our generation phasing out such a staple of style and personality is fairly depressing. A watch can really say something a lot about one's sense of style.

Here's hoping we save face and start to see more in time.

(See what we did there?)

We'd all do well to do so. As you can see, the wrists of those still rocking wristwatches around town are looking pretty good, y'all.
