Pre-Game For St. Patrick's Day With The Dropkick Murphys.
Dallas may not dance but it sure does drink — and, thanks to Yelp, Dallasites can afford to do it much more cheaply this week. Meanwhile, over at the House of Blues, Dropkick Murphys will be bringing their own brand of hardcore Irish spirit to the masses. Just be careful not to shout out any requests for Flogging Molly tunes.
Dropkick Murphys at House of Blues
What the Trans Siberian Orchestra is to Christmas, Dropkick Murphys have become for St. Patrick's Day. Though both tour year-round, one can't deny the fact that these groups have been pigeonholed. It's a tad bit more unfair in Dropkick's case, as they don't change up their set in March to include a bunch of numbers about leprechauns or green beer. So maybe it is better that they're House of Blues set comes a couple weeks before St. Paddy's does. Y'know, so folks might take their rowdy brand of Celt-punk more on its face value rather than simply writing them off as nothing more than a holiday-themed novelty act.
Yelp Drinks! Week
Yelp has organized a city-wide, week-long happy hour. Participating locations will offer at least three half-priced drinks off their menu. Locations include: Tate's, Double Wide, Single Wide, Grapevine Bar, Urban Taco, Veritas Wine Room, Trinity Hall, Four Lounge, People's Last Stand, Fedora, Victor Tango's, The Libertine, Barcadia, and Beauty Bar.
Badass Jazz at Amsterdam Bar
Still one of the city's strongest weeklies. There's never a cover and you get to hear the best jazz musicians in town.
Half-price food at Barcadia
With the amped up drinking going around this week thanks to Yelp, it's important to have some hearty food in your gut. Not only does Barcadia whip up some of the best bar grub in town, but on Mondays it is half-priced.
