While We May Not Be Able To Sit Around A Lively Klyde Warren Park To Enjoy Some Of Dallas’ Best Food Trucks, We Can Still Fulfill Our Quick Walk-Up Cravings.
As you likely know by now, there’s an increasing need to support smaller North Texas businesses as they continue to hang on through these unstable times. While Congress tries to juggle aid from bills that allocate money to small businesses after having it quickly eaten away at the first time, these Dallas staples are heavy on our minds.
Food trucks are a unique experience of what was a bustling food scene pre-covid-19, and can really only thrive again if we keep them around throughout this bullshit. Of course it now feels like eons since Bon Appétit Magazine named Dallas its 2019 Restaurant City of the Year, but it’s important to remember Dallas wasn’t always a ghost town. With our help, local eateries can keep fighting to make our restaurant culture the best in the country.
These places aren’t just serving us through pickup or delivery either. Many of the local favorites below have been using their mobility to travel to other essential businesses and serve them during their lunch breaks. Taco, Bites, & Beats took to instagram to share their truck’s visit of workers at Nestle Waters manufacturing in Coppell. Ruthie’s Cafe has also taken its truck on the road to serve employees at a Dallas senior living facility.
Food trucks are adapting to the times by meeting us where we are. The least we can do is return the love by not only supporting them, but supporting their efforts to serve the community that needs it most, other essential workers.
