One of my strongest beliefs is that some of the best things in life are free — an idea born out of both cheapness and being a recent college grad. Fortunately, Nissan agrees, and thanks to them, we’ve got a kickass Saturday plan for you and yours this weekend that’ll keep you and your wallet both happy. Photo by Dominique Goncalves.
Red River Rivalry Watch Party (2012 Woodall Rodgers Freeway, Dallas). The Red River Rivalry is as strong as ever, meaning tickets are as expensive as ever, too. Stop looking at scalper sites and instead head on over to Klyde Warren Park instead. This Nissan-sponsored watch party includes free drinks and free food — but, as every cheapskate knows, it’s best to throw some beers and snacks in your bag just in case. Lay a blanket down and enjoy the game, take pics with Billy Sims and the Heisman Trophy and, most of all, take advantage of the beautiful sunny weather we’ve got coming. Lastly, face-painting-optional may be optional but cheering for Texas isn’t. GO LONGHORNS!
