Karl Lagerfeld to Stage Chanel Fashion Show in Dallas.

Pretty major Dallas-related fashion news out of the U.K. this week: In an interview with British Vogue that went live yesterday, Chanel head designer and creative director Karl Lagerfeld announced that he'll be staging a fashion show for the fashion house's next pre-collection here in Dallas.

Chanel's last show, it should be noted, was held in the ruins of a castle in Scotland. Dallas' show will obviously be different, but also, the fashion icon Lagerfeld explained, kinda the same, saying his location selections are all based off the ideal woman he has in mind for Chanel's designs each year.

"Normally I try to find a vague connection," Lagerfeld told Vogue. "For Scotland, it was easy because her lover was hunting with her in Scotland and it is how she discovered tweeds. She went to Venice a lot, that's why I did a show in Venice. She had a Russian lover, and loved Russian art, and so I did it in Russia. I try to find a connection, but the connection is often very vague. With Texas, it's a detail, but with little detail, you can make a whole story. I am a storyteller for that."

Sure, he's mum so far on what exactly this new woman's "story" will be, but, turns out, Chanel's own history with Dallas played a role in his decision.

"When Chanel reopened, the French press was beyond nasty," continued Lagerfeld, who also heads the Fendi brand as its artistic director. "The only press that understood it immediately was the American press, and Neiman Marcus gave her the Oscar for her collection, so I think it's a nice thing to go there."

The ever-impeccably styled Lagerfeld said something else, too: "I love Texas. I love Texans."

Figures. At 79 years old, you'd expect the dude to know how to pander, right?
