Not Going to Fun Fun Fun Fest? You Have 25 Chances to See Austin-Bound Acts Here at Home.

By Pete on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 3:23 PM

As if anyone still needed yet more proof that Fun Fun Fun Fest had usurped the mantle from Austin City Limits as our state capital's biggest festival of the fall, consider this: Whereas the spillover effect from Austin City Limits saw some 20 different bills coming through town featuring performers either headed in or out of Austin for the weekend, this weekend's Fun Fun Fun Fest's crop provides a whopping 25 chances for you to catch a festival performer in Dallas without having to drive three hours south.

That all should make for quite the entertaining stretch over the next week or so, too -- especially when you consider the non-FFFFest shows already coming through Dallas. Among the shows in this lot: Performances from Justice, Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie, Kendrick Lamar, Bob Dylan, Taking Back Sunday, Starfucker, Blitzen Trapper, Delta Spirit, Generationals, Psychedelic Furs, Everclear, All Time Low and an at least somewhat intriguing double-bill featuring Noel Gallagher's Flying Birds and Snow Patrol.

As for which Fun Fun Fun Fest (and Fun Fun Fun Fest Nites) performers are swinging through Dallas in the next couple of days, check the schedule below, which kicks off tonight.
