Check Out The Debut Music Video From St. Vincent and David Byrne. Then Go Stream Their Whole Record.

Earlier this morning, ex-Dallas resident Annie Clark and former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne released the first video for their upcoming collaborative effort Love This Giant, and the black-and-white Martin de Thurah-directed clip is just as vague and arty as you'd expect from the pair. In the video for "Who," Byrne finds Clark asleep in the road and appears to revive her with some of his patented Heads-era dance steps.

While Love This Giant doesn't earn its official release until next Tuesday, fans who have been eagerly anticipating the disc since wind of the partnership initially came down back in 2009 can head over to National Public Radio's website, where they're streaming the thing in its entirety as part of their "First Listen" feature. We recommend you do so, too. As perhaps expected, Byrne and St. Vincent manage to execute a perfect marriage of their unique styles on their latest collaboration, eschewing the traditional rock band setup in favor of the syncopated plunking of full horn section.

Pulling off the near impossible, the duo, along with Oak Cliff-based producer John Congleton and Patrick Dillett, has created a work that sounds distinctively like both artists while maintaining the characteristics of solo effort from either artist. When the pair comes to town on October 7 for a show at the McFarlin Memorial Auditorium, it should be a memorable affair. Kelly Pratt of Bright Moments will be helping the duo pull of their slightly angular brand of funk live by leading an eight-piece brass band during the tour.

Check out the duo's new video below.
