Five Ways To Save Hostess From Bankruptcy.

By Melissa on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 2:56 PM

Hostess brand is in serious trouble, you guys. Back in the spring, the company filed for bankruptcy for a second time, and, this week, a bankruptcy judge pretty much had to beg the company's union employees to give in on their demands in order to keep the company afloat.

But what does this all mean for us, the Hostess adoring public? Well, far as we can tell, it means we better start buying more Hostess brand products, or else we can kiss our Twinkies bye-bye and soon.

We figure the best way to do so isn't just by eating the same snack foods over and over, but rather by finding new uses for the old favorites. To that end, here are five very easy, very adorable and very edible ways to help our favorite carbohydrate-and_sugar company rise above this mess they've gotten themselves into.

The Hostess With The Mostest.

Cupcake Birthday Cake. Of all the alternative Hostess uses we've found, this one is by far the most simple. Just tier several cream-filled cupcakes on top of each other, insert a candle and -- voila! -- you've got a cheap, and rather charming, birthday cake.

Mini Muffin Breakfast Kabob. This one's just perfect for brunch! Skewer Hostess Mini Muffins and the fruit of your choice onto a kabob stick. Alternate muffins and fruit. And you're done.

Ding Dong Confetti Sundae. Oh, hello, amazing nighttime snack! Just place a scoop of ice cream on top of a Ding Dong snack cake. Cover in chocolate syrup and load of rainbow confetti sprinkles. Boom.

Mini Apple Pie a la Mode. Maybe the cutest date dessert ever seen. You take a Hostess Fruit Pie, cut it in half and heat it in the microwave for approximately 30 seconds. Then top each pie with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy with the one you love!

Snack Cake Sushi. If you really wanna impress your friends, this is the one to try. Using Twinkies, powdered donuts, fruit roll ups and gummy fish, assemble your sushi. Cut Twinkies into small pieces, wrap with fruit roll up strips and top with chopped gummies. Cut powdered donuts in half and secure a gummy fish to the top of each donut by using a thin strip of fruit roll up. Use a small piece of tooth pick in the bottom if you need to. Pour a little chocolate syrup into a a saucer for your mock soy sauce. Then bust out your chopsticks and go to town!
