Light One Up With Curren$y At The House Of Blues.

By Cory on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 7:30 AM

Though the options are kind of limited tonight, there's no such thing as a dead day in Dallas. Especially not when one of hip-hop's busiest and most respected artists is in town. To that end, go check out Curren$y at House of Blues tonight. Or, out in the suburbs, you can welcome home the Rangers who return home tonight after going eight and one in the most successful road trip in franchise history. If neither of those sounds like a winner, you might as well head over to The House of Poets and entertain yourself there.

Texas Rangers vs New York Yankees at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington
It's still early on in the season but thus far the Rangers have proven to be far and away the best team in baseball. Venture out to Arlington tonight to watch them take on the hated Yankees -- always a formidable opponent and one of the hottest tickets of the season.

Open Stage at The House of Poets
Every Monday, The House of Poets in Richardson opens up its stage to anyone and everyone who signs up for a five-minute timeslot. Take the opportunity tonight to show off your talents in front of a captive live audience -- because practicing your ventriloquism, stand-up comedy, singing, or acting chops in front of a mirror will only take you so far in life.

Curren$y at House of Blues
Being known as "New Orleans' hardest working stoner" may sound like a pretty contradictory descriptor, but, in Curren$y's case, it is entirely fitting. The Lousianna rapper has already released an LP and pair of EPs in 2012 and has plans to put out at least five more releases by the end of the year. His prolific output is all the more impressive when one considers how much of his catalog is comprised of songs mentioning the amount of marijuana he smokes.

$1 Oysters at Bailey's Prime Plus
For all you Dollar Menunaires looking to class things up tonight, head over to The Shops at Park Lane where upscale eatery Bailey's Prime Plus has added $1 oysters to its bar menu. They've also got white and red wine flights to help wash those buggers down.

Korn at Palladium Ballroom
Despite their partial responsibility for that dreadful late '90s rap-rock movement, Korn was one of the most popular nu-metal bands of the post grunge era. Although they aren't quite as popular now as they were in the Follow the Leader days, they're still kicking around, releasing a new album last year called The Path of Totality that incorporated elements of dubstep into the band's sound.
