Get Your Interpretive Dance On With Radiohead At American Airlines Center.

By Cory on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 7:05 AM

Today begins a two-week period of traditionally strong musical offerings, thanks in large part to pre- and post-SXSW festival spillover. It doesn't get much bigger than Radiohead, who are in town tonight. What a hell of a way to kick off a music-filled week with 35 Denton just a few days away. And, as always there is plenty of good Monday night jazz to be found, too.

Radiohead at American Airlines Center
After being initially written off as a one-hit-wonder following 1992's "Creep," Radiohead has managed to consistently evolve over the past 19 years. Toying with everything from alternative to ambient techno, the band has managed to pull of the rare feat of producing persistently progressive, challenging music while maintaining their standing as one of the most popular bands on the planet. For our money, it doesn't get much better than OK Computer, a hands down top five album of the '90s.

Local Brewery Beer Pairing Dinner at Common Table

Chef Mike Smith has prepared a five-course meal with beers from five local breweries. Brewers from Deep Ellum Brewing Company, Franconia Brewing Co, Lakewood Brewing Co., Rahr & Sons Brewing Co., and Peticolas Brewing Co will be in attendance at the event.

Doc Severinsen at Morton Meyerson Symphony Center
Mondays are always strong jazz nights in town, but especially tonight as one of our favorite trumpeters -- and former Tonight Show bandleader Doc Severinsen -- is in town with his big band.

Kim Lenz and the Jaguars at The Double Wide
The local rockabilly queen was once named Best Female Vocalist by the Dallas Observer in their annual music awards. Of course, that was over a decade ago, but, still. The Double Wide will be the perfect setting for this type of show. We may even have to un-swear off YooHoo YeeHaws for this one. Maybe.

Badass Jazz at Amsterdam Bar
A cheaper Monday night jazz option than the Meyerson one.
