It's been impossible not to notice the erection of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge -- a.k.a. Dallas' new gateway to the west -- over the past several months. Now, the city has a weekend-long celebration planned to open the bridge, filled with concerts, a street fair and a 5K run.

Also this week? Yelp, the popular business-ranking social network site, has organized a week-long city-wide happy hour in which bars all over town are offering up half-priced drinks.

Oh, and Good Records has recently announced several really nice upcoming in-store performances in the near future, starting this week with Gorilla vs Bear Fest alum Grimes.

Does this mean St. Paddy's Day is around the corner?

Yelp Drinks launch party at The People's Last Stand

Tuesday (2.28)
Tuesday Night Trash at Texas Theatre
This week's truly awful feature is Darktown Strutters (the 1975 film, not the local band).

It's really happening this time, we promise, .

Thursdsay (3.1)
Grimes at Good Records

Taco Happy Hour at El Padrino
Half-price tacos, one Thursday a month.

Friday (3.2)

The bridge's debut event will be Lyle Lovett. Yup, sounds about right.

Bridge-o-rama continues with a morning 5K run and an evening street fair featuring Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights.

2nd Annual Starkbierfest at Common Table
Fun fact: The original starkbier was brewed by some clever monks who were looking for a way to stave away hunger while still technically fasting during Lent. (For monks, fluids don't break fasting rules.)

Central Track Presents: Doug Burr/Gold Beach 7" release party at Good Records
We're helping Spune celebrate the release of a pair of new 7-inches. You can bet there will be food trucks on site. It's how we roll.

For The Love of the Artists at Kettle Art
Interesting take on an art show where 100 percent of sales go directly to the artists.
