Things To Do On Saturday, July 14.

It's Getting Hot In Here.

By Cory on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 11:03 AM

Let's face it: It's not getting any colder in the foreseeable future.

Deal with it.

Make the most of it. Embrace it.

Dance your sweaty little asses off at a party with the phrase "hot as hell" in its name at The Green Elephant. Or groove to Paul van Dyk's hot beats over at Lizard Lounge. Or just pretend you're a fire eater as you peruse the vintage sideshow banners at Bruce Lee Webb's gallery.

If all else fails, just take Nelly's advice and take off all your clothes (well all except for your swim trunks) and set sail with Ishi on Lake Lewisville.

The Greatest Show on Earth at Webb Gallery
The freaks come out at night. It wasn't just Whodini that told us that either; we saw it on the oversized vintage sideshow banners advertising living oddities like the rubber skinned man and the Fiji mermaid. Noted artist and junk collector Bruce Lee Webb will have a huge assortment of the banners on exhibit tonight at his gallery in Waxahachie.

Paul Van Dyk at Lizard Lounge
Paul Van Dyk has somewhat quietly maintained a reputation as one of the globe's greatest DJs. In fact, he's the only human who has appeared on the World's Top DJs list every year since 1998. If only he had thought to wear a giant foam mouse head early on in his career, he would completely dominate the electronic music landscape.

Hot as Hell Dance at The Green Elephant
The dance party tonight at The Green Elephant promises to be an extra sweaty fun time. But, let's face it, the main reason we're mentioning it is because it is being headlined by Icelandic/New York DJ duo Thugfucker, and, well, that's just an incredible name. Their mix of house, minimal, disco and techo gets some pretty rave reviews across the web, though.

Taste of Dallas at Fair Park
Today's happening at Fair Park should prove to be a lot more delicious than the last time we had a "taste" of Dallas. Of course, just about anything probably tastes better than a face full of Commerce Street at two in the morning. It kind of smells like fresh pee.

Yacht Rock Party at Sneaky Pete's Marina
Grab your swim trunks and your flippy-floppies. Ishi's hosting a yacht rock party on a mother fuckin' boat. The four-hour voyage takes off promptly at 5 p.m., and those not tardy to the party will be rewarded with an open bar.

So and Sos.
